Danielle 大敏 Chu is a public health visual communicator and media worker from New York with a focus on ecological sustainability and creating resources for community self-advocacy.
They have collaborated on award-winning films and media that have premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, SXSW, Sundance and IDFA, as well as programs that have aired on Arte and PBS, among others.
In their spare time, they hope to one day answer big questions like how to replicate the smell of their dog’s paws (for those times when sniffing a bag of fritos will not suffice), why it is that Aimé Césaire’s “Discourse on Colonialism” seems to connect to every film, or how eating the right amount of cheese can so accurately simulate the feeling of living dangerously. Danielle feels inexplicably connected to their Chinese ancestry when drinking hot tea in tropical climates, and is most at home in sentiment either with their loved ones or the unpredictable interactions of NYC.
